Frequently Asked Questions

Just like Beneficial, WSFS was started in the mid-1800s to help local communities grow and safeguard their savings. With 60 banking offices across southeast Pennsylvania and Delaware, our Wilmington-based organization has become the largest locally headquartered community bank in the Greater Delaware Valley. We provide a comprehensive array of financial services, including retail and commercial banking, small business banking, trust services and wealth management.

While we have grown over the years, WSFS has remained committed to the unique values and traditions of community banking. We believe in doing what’s right for our Customers and our neighborhoods, and you can always count on us for friendly, helpful service and local decision- making. It’s a commitment we share with Beneficial, and it’s why we often build long-term, multigenerational relationships with the families and businesses we serve.
While Beneficial is now officially part of WSFS Bank, our full transition to one organization will occur at the end of August 2019. Until then, Beneficial will continue to operate separately, so please continue to bank as usual, using your local Beneficial branches and working with your current banking contacts.
In July, watch your mail for a package that will contain a personalized summary listing your new WSFS account types, as well as transition details about accessing your new accounts and key dates to remember – including the final date in August when we are fully integrated as WSFS Bank.
In most cases your checking, savings, money market and CD account numbers will remain the same, and you can continue to use your existing Beneficial Bank checks. If an account number needs to change, we’ll notify you directly.
Not substantially, because WSFS uses the same Business and Personal Online and Mobile Banking platforms as Beneficial Bank. So our services should feel comfortable and familiar to you.
Yes, there are places where either a WSFS or Beneficial location will consolidate into a nearby banking office. Many of these locations are less than three miles apart, and nearly a third are less than one mile away from each other. Even with this consolidation, you will have access to more locations than ever before, thanks to a combined footprint of 90 banking offices and nearly 500 ATMs across the Greater Delaware Valley. The FDIC provides a six-month grace period which will be in effect until September 1, 2019 (longer for some CDs). During this time your accounts will be insured separately and we will contact you to review options to maximize your coverage going forward.
