WSFS expands Sagarika Chhabra’s horizons through summer internship

1 min read

Across the Greater Philadelphia and Delaware Valley, you can find WSFS Bank banking offices, billboards and commercials. Existing as the oldest and largest locally headquartered bank and wealth management franchise in the Greater Philadelphia and Delaware Valley, its impact stretches far beyond the region. Through the bank’s Institutional Trust’s Global Capital Markets Team, clients can utilize WSFS far beyond the borders of the state or even the country.

Sagarika Chhabra, a finance major at Lehigh University, dove into this fast-paced side of financial services during her WSFS summer internship.

“Each day brings something new,” said Chhabra, who is back in school ahead of her 2026 graduation. “I’ve gained hands-on experience working with financial and legal documentation, sharpened my communication and networking skills, and developed a deeper understanding of the secondary loan market.”

Throughout the summer, Chhabra focused on the financial side by reviewing tax documentation and credit capabilities, the regulatory side by staying up to date with legal and logistical information, and the creative side of the business through marketing material development.

“WSFS offers a welcoming and supportive environment where interns are given real responsibilities with the chance to meaningfully contribute,” said Chhabra.

It’s an environment that she first heard about from a friend who interned with the company. As she prepares for a long-term career in financial services, specifically in private wealth management, she says WSFS’ strong reputation and collaborative culture are helping her reach that goal.

“I hope to combine my analytical strengths with my interpersonal skills to make a meaningful impact in the industry,” said Chhabra who recognizes the connections made as one of the biggest highlights of her experience.

Chhabra is one of WSFS’ many interns positioned in departments across the company. If you are interested in taking the next step to joining WSFS, learn more by visiting  wsfsbank.com/careers.
