Aundre Chambers Embraces WSFS’ Learning Opportunities and Collaborative Environment to Build a Flourishing Technology Career

With a strong work ethic and a desire to learn, Aundre Chambers set out on his path toward success when he joined the Tech Impact ITWorks program in 2015.

“Prior to Tech Impact, I didn’t really have any professional experience with technology, but the organization was able to help set me up for success in just a few months’ time,” said Chambers.

After graduating from the program, Chambers landed a role at WSFS as a Service Desk Analyst Intern, where he continued to build his skillset and assist with IT support across the Bank.

“I was fortunate to be able to work with Tech Impact to find my career path, as I wasn’t initially sure which direction I wanted to head in a technology-focused career, cybersecurity or networking,” he said. “One of the things that stood out about WSFS was that the majority of technology and operations were handled in-house so I’d have more opportunity to get hands on experience and decide which path was best for me.”

Chambers’ internship at WSFS soon blossomed into a full-time role, where he has since advanced from Service Desk Analyst to Deskside Support Technician to his current role as a Systems Engineer.

In his current role, Chambers focuses on the Bank’s monitoring systems to identify issues, works on creating virtual servers, handling Help Desk requests that require elevated permissions and more. In his five-plus years at WSFS, Chambers has embraced opportunities to grow alongside the Bank.

“I’ve been with the Bank for six acquisitions, which has allowed me to convert, combine and upgrade various technology and systems into WSFS technology to help the Bank grow and become stronger,” he said. “Working with the Help Desk and Deskside Teams, you have the opportunity to learn more than just those positions because you’re collaborating with everyone. I’ve learned application development, data engineering, transaction processing, loan operations and a great deal of different departments.”

That collaboration and the culture at WSFS have been what has stood out most for Chambers as he’s advanced his own career.

“My favorite part of WSFS is definitely the culture, which is one of a kind,” he said. “Even during the pandemic, we’ve found ways to communicate and have fun. It makes your workday better knowing that you have friends at work and can work hard and have fun at the same time.”

While working hard on growing his own career, Chambers has also made time to give back to others and serve as a mentor for those currently looking to build their careers.

“I’m a mentor for Tech Impact, which is great because they set me up for success, and now I have the chance to return the favor for other students,” he said. “I recently joined the Board of Directors for Tech Impact as well, and serve as a mentor for Big Brothers Big Sisters in Delaware in addition to other volunteering, which has helped me grow and mature.”

“Aundre is a shining example of someone who embraced opportunities to expand his skillset as he’s built a successful technology career here at WSFS,” said Lisa Brubaker, Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer. “We’re proud of Aundre’s accomplishments, including being named to Technical.ly’s RealLIST Engineers of Delaware in 2021, and his continued efforts to help others in the community build successful careers through his mentoring and volunteer work.”

“We have exciting opportunities available at WSFS in both Technology and Operations – from Cloud DevOps Automation to nCino and Salesforce Administration, e-Banking Support, Change Management and more – for those looking to join a collaborative environment with opportunities to grow,” Brubaker added.
