Privacy Policy
At WSFS our customers are our number one priority. We recognize that privacy is an important element of any individual’s rights and we realize that our customers expect us to collect and maintain information in an appropriate and responsible fashion. Therefore, it is one of our highest priorities that we treat the personal and financial information provided by our customers with the utmost confidentiality.
Given the rapid pace of recent technological advancement, the need to protect personal privacy has become even more important. To let you, our customers, know the high priority that WSFS places on protecting your privacy, we want to communicate and make you aware of the basic principles we follow when collecting, maintaining, using and safeguarding the personal and financial information you have provided us, whether collected electronically or in any other fashion. This Customer Privacy Policy applies to the following members of the WSFS Corporate Family: Wilmington Savings Fund Society, FSB; WSFS Investment Group, Inc.; Montchanin Capital Management, Inc.; and WSFS REIT, Inc.
The following items provide more details about our privacy practices as they relate to individuals who obtain financial products or services from WSFS for personal, family or household purposes:
WSFS receives (and retains) nonpublic personal information about its customers and former customers from the following sources:
- Information received on applications or other forms;
- Information about your transactions with WSFS, its affiliates or others;
- Information WSFS receives from consumer reporting agencies; and
- Information WSFS receives electronically when customers access its website, including by means of an information- collecting device known as a “cookie.”
Information WSFS discloses to non-affiliated, third parties WSFS does not disclose any non-public, personal information about its customers or former customers to third parties who are not affiliated with WSFS, except as permitted by law. Some examples of information permitted by law are:
- When we share information with consumer credit reporting agencies;
- When we respond to your requests for service;
- When we complete your financial transactions, such as paying your checks or complying with your online payment instructions;
- When we complete your financial transactions through affiliated companies, such as when we purchase securities or process an insurance application;
- When we verify your account status for merchants when you want to pay these merchants by check or debit card;
- When we suspect fraudulent activity on your account or for risk management purposes;
- When we are required by a federal, state, or local law or regulation; and
- When we receive a subpoena or are ordered by a court.
Information sharing within the WSFS Corporate Family To serve you better, WSFS may share the following information about its customers between and among subsidiaries, affiliates and divisions within the WSFS Corporate Family:
- Information we obtain from applications or other forms, such as your job status or date of birth;
- Information we obtain from a consumer reporting agency, such as your credit score, credit history or financial history;
- Information we obtain to verify representations made by you, such as your open lines of credit and your annual household income;
- Information we obtain from a person or entity regarding its employment, credit or other relationship with you, such as your employer; and
- Information about your transactions with us, our affiliates, or others, such as your account balance, payment history, parties to transactions and credit card usage.
Who within the WSFS Corporate Family may have access to this information?
This Customer Privacy Policy applies to the following members of the WSFS Corporate Family: Wilmington Savings Fund Society, FSB; WSFS Investment Group, Inc.; Montchanin Capital Management, Inc.; and WSFS REIT, Inc.
Information for service providers and suppliers
WSFS may use outside companies or suppliers to perform services for WSFS such as printing checks for our customers, preparing and mailing customer account statements and processing customer transactions. WSFS may also use outside companies to perform research for us by contacting our customers to ask their opinion about our products and services. WSFS provides only information such as name, address and telephone number to these outside companies. WSFS may also provide these companies with customer information, such as type of account and balance on an occasional basis. These outside companies are not permitted to use our customer information for any purpose other than for the intended services. WSFS will share our customer information with these companies only if they agree to keep it confidential.
Limited information for financial institutions under joint marketing agreements
WSFS may enter into joint marketing agreements with certain financial institutions outside the WSFS Corporate Family in order to offer our customers certain financial products. These financial institutions specialize in providing these type of financial products. WSFS provides these financial institutions only with customer contact information, such as name, address and telephone number. WSFS is very careful in selecting the financial institutions under join marketing agreements and WSFS requires these institutions to keep our customer information confidential.
WSFS allows you to restrict the sharing of certain information within the WSFS Corporate Family.
Pursuant to the federal Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), WSFS allows you an opportunity to prevent us from sharing some of the information within our Corporate Family that we described above. This information, “FCRA Information,” does not include any information regarding your transactions with WSFS or our experience with you.
If you prefer that we do not share this “FCRA Information” within the WSFS Corporate Family or with certain financial institutions under a joint marketing agreement, you may contact us by choosing one of the following options:

Safeguarding the privacy and confidentiality of your non-public personal information.
WSFS limits access to non-public, personal information to those Associates with a business reason for knowing such information. WSFS educates its Associates so that they understand the importance of confidentiality and customer privacy. WSFS also takes appropriate disciplinary measures to enforce Associates’ privacy responsibilities. WSFS will not accept communications and requests for personal or financial information from someone representing a customer, unless the party is known to WSFS as an attorney, guardian or trustee of such person, or otherwise authorized by law to represent the customer. WSFS maintains physical, electronic and procedural safeguards that comply with federal regulations to guard your non- public personal information.
Safeguarding your privacy online
WSFS uses some of the latest technology to protect electronic customer information. We guard the privacy of all the information that customers send to and from our website, www.wsfsbank.com, and WSFS Online Personal Banking. In addition to the security and privacy standards we employ for traditional banking, WSFS uses specific controls to identify and authenticate all our online customers and to detect and prevent unauthorized access to our website. Internet “cookies” are used by WSFS to provide a more personalized experience at our website, in effect allowing us to treat you like an old friend each time you visit. If you choose, you can set your browser to warn you before you accept a cookie and choose each time if you want to accept the cookie. You may also choose to obtain software that operates in conjunction with your browser to control cookie acceptance. Some portions of the WSFS website require the use of cookies for proper function so that we can provide you with a secure environment for financial transactions. E-mail communication
When communicating with WSFS via e-mail, you should understand that messages transmitted across the public Internet could potentially be intercepted and viewed by malicious parties.
