WSFS Partners with Cristo Rey Philadelphia’s Professional Work-Study Program
In today’s career and financial landscape, fostering the next generation of talent is paramount.
Through a remarkable partnership with Cristo Rey Philadelphia High School’s Professional Work-Study Program, WSFS is actively engaged in empowering future leaders within the finance industry. This unique program offers Cristo Rey students an opportunity to gain hands-on experience and develop essential workplace skills, plus build a strong network of mentors.
This year’s interns worked within our Learning & Development, Consumer Lending Operations, Bank Card Services and Wealth Management lines of business.
The success of this partnership is evident in the positive testimonials. Steve Dever, Cristo Rey Client Relationship Manager, highlights the program’s effectiveness, stating, “The partnership between WSFS and Cristo Rey has been phenomenal for the past 12 years. Looking forward to the next several years of working together.”
Cristo Rey senior Hanirah Dolan emphasizes the program’s impact on personal growth, advising, “Take advantage of your time because you never know what can happen. Trust the process and trust yourself.” These words exemplify the valuable life lessons students gain alongside professional skills development.
WSFS’ commitment extends beyond providing internship opportunities. The bank’s annual $35,000 grant significantly supplements the tuition costs for Cristo Rey interns. This investment ensures financial accessibility to higher education, equipping these talented individuals to pursue their academic and professional aspirations with confidence.
This collaboration between WSFS and Cristo Rey is a powerful example of how investing in education can create a brighter future for students and our community.
