WSFS Recognized as One of the 50 Most Community-Minded Employers in the Greater Philadelphia Region

WSFS Recognized as One of the 50 Most Community-Minded Employers in the Greater Philadelphia RegionFor the second consecutive year, WSFS has been named an honoree of The Civic 50 Greater Philadelphia by Philadelphia Foundation, in partnership with Points of Light and local partners.

“WSFS’ mission, vision and strategy are closely intertwined with our efforts to support our Communities,” said Vernita Dorsey, Senior Vice President, Director of Community Strategy at WSFS Bank. “Our strategy of ‘Engaged Associates, living our culture, enriching the Communities we serve’ underscores our focus on our Associates, who are the key to our success. WSFS is proud to be recognized again as part of The Civic 50 Greater Philadelphia, and we thank our dedicated Associates, who logged more than 17,600 volunteer hours in 2022 alone.”

The Civic 50 Greater Philadelphia honorees are private and public companies and other employers operating in the Philadelphia region, which were selected based on four dimensions of their community engagement program:

  • Investment of resources
  • Integration across business functions
  • Institutionalization through policies and system
  • Impact measurement

Since 2011, The Civic 50 has provided a national standard for superior corporate citizenship and has showcased how companies use their time, skills and other resources to drive social impact in their business and community.

“Philadelphia Foundation is proud to recognize WSFS’ outstanding civic engagement,” said Pedro Ramos, President and Chief Executive Officer of Philadelphia Foundation. “All of the 2023 honorees have demonstrated great passion and dedication to making a meaningful impact in the local communities they serve. It is this type of commitment that resonates throughout a region and sets the standard for corporate stewardship. We thank WSFS for their efforts and congratulate them on this exciting honor.”

WSFS recently re-emphasized its commitment to its Communities on June 14 by celebrating the inaugural “We Stand for Service Day,” a Company-wide day of giving back through volunteerism that saw approximately 1,200 Associates join together to volunteer nearly 5,000 hours at organizations across the Greater Philadelphia and Delaware region.

WSFS was recognized along with the other Civic 50 Greater Philadelphia honorees on June 22 at a celebratory event in Philadelphia.

Modeled after Points of Light’s national program, The Civic 50 Greater Philadelphia provides a standard for corporate citizenship and showcases how employers use their time, skills and resources to drive social impact in their communities and company.

The Civic 50 Greater Philadelphia assessment is administered by True Impact, a company specializing in helping organizations maximize and measure their social and business value and consists of quantitative and multiple-choice questions that inform scoring process.
