WSFS and the Philadelphia Union joined forces recently to volunteer at CityTeam Chester, an organization focused on restoring lives and rebuilding communities through innovative programs that provide food, shelter, clothing, training and spiritual transformation.
As part of the initiative to support CityTeam Chester, WSFS also provided a $5,000 donation to the organization on behalf of its Customers who joined WSFS from Bryn Mawr Trust to celebrate the one-year anniversary of the combination.
“For nearly 200 years, WSFS has been dedicated to serving our Communities,” said Justin Dunn, Senior Vice President, Chief Marketing Officer at WSFS Bank. “Thank you to our Customers who recently celebrated their one-year anniversary with WSFS for making this donation possible, and to CityTeam for hosting WSFS and the Union for a great day of service.”
After presenting the ceremonial check, volunteers from WSFS and the Philadelphia Union got to work at CityTeam’s facility, loading donated silent auction items and helping to prepare other items for CityTeam’s annual Angel Event, which supports the organization’s mother and baby care program.
Once the truck was loaded and ready to go for the big event, volunteers helped sort donated clothing by size and season to help support the organization in providing clothing for those in need in the Chester area.
“We’re thrilled to work with organizations like the Philadelphia Union and CityTeam Chester that share our commitment to our Communities,” added Dunn. “We look forward to continuing to work together to build toward a day when everyone will thrive.”
